Things I intended to do this past weekend:
- Write another chapter (or two) of my novel
- Go to the gym or for a run around Green Lake (Sat)
- Go to a yoga class (Sun)
- Eat well (mostly salad greens and veggies)
- Finish The Help
- Make banana bread to bring in for my co-workers on Monday
- Not drink any alcohol
Things I actually did this past weekend:
- Snuggled with the dog we’re dog-sitting (Louie) for about 8 hours
- Wiped Louie’s ass after he liquid pooped all over a neighbor’s front lawn 3 times (with the help of my bf)
- Flipped through a copy of Entertainment Weekly, paying attention only to the photos
- Watched the latest episodes of “Up All Night,” “Modern Family,” and “Parks & Rec.” Also managed to catch up on “The Daily Show” & “Bones”
- Carried Louie around the house like a baby and alternated between cooing “hello, buddy” and “I love you, buddy” in his face
- Made banana bread and then ate a pretty healthy (yeah, that’s what we’ll call it) portion of it last night in one sitting. Sorry, co-workers, maybe next time
- Went to a Lowe’s store with Louie, who I carried around in a Louis Vuitton pet carrier. FYI, designer bags in a home improvement store will get ya a couple glances
- Ate a total of six strips of bacon over the course of 21 hours (never ingested anything green)
- Enjoyed an $11 drink on Friday night that included champagne and creme de cassis (it was worth it)
- Procrastinated working on my novel by writing a post about why “Dirty Dancing” is a good family movie that no one besides Kate will ever see. I was trying to be funny…
Well, the good news is that I already have a to-do list ready & waiting for next weekend.
